FROM THE PASTOR
We welcome this weekend Fr. Paul Fagan to Nativity of Our Lord Parish once again. Fr. Paul has been coming to Rhinelander for many years and again will share with us his experiences of his past year in Tanzania. This year too, Fr. Paul will share with us his exciting news of becoming a Diocesan Priest in Tanzania. For Fr. Paul, this means that he will be staying in Tanzania for the rest of his life, living among and serving people he dearly loves. Fr. Paul, in addition to being at all of the weekend Masses, will give a presentation on Sunday evening, August 3, at 7:00 pm in Kohlbeck Hall at our St. Joseph's site. Refreshments will be served.
It is time for our first ever 'Ushers Picnic' at Nativity Parish. The ushers at church are a dedicated group, who provide service to our parish every weekend. They are here for us not only on weekends, but provide extra help on days like Christmas and Easter, setting up and taking down chairs and helping guests find seats when the church gets crowded. It is time to say thank you to the ushers with a picnic. All our ushers are invited to the picnic which will take place on Thursday, August 7, starting at 5:30 pm at Hodag Park. There will be plenty of food and even a few games. Please let us know if you plan to attend by calling the parish office at 362-3169, by Wednesday, August 6.
Mark your calendars, Friday, August 15, is a Holy Day of Obligation, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. There will be Mass on Thursday, August 14, at 5:30 pm at St. Mary's, and 7:00 pm at St. John's in Pelican Lake. There will be Mass on Friday, August 15, at
8:15 am at St. Joseph's.
