The Sacrament of Holy Eucharist is celebrated for the first time in the second grade. Catechesis for the sacrament is part of the curriculum for both the Catholic School and Faith Formation Program where the Loyola Press textbook, Finding God; Our Response to God’s Gifts, is presented. Preparation for this sacrament includes a Parent instructional and informational meeting, and a Family Workshop. Parents are asked to be their child’s key teachers with the help of a First Eucharist text book, to be used at home. Traditionally, First Holy Communion is celebrated during the Easter Season.
The sacraments of baptism and reconciliation are required before Holy Communion.
