Family Catechesis
Family-based catechesis
We embrace a family-based catechesis model—a beautiful approach that invites the whole family to grow in faith together. At the heart of this model is the understanding that parents and guardians are the primary educators of their children in the faith. Their witness, love, and daily example are the most powerful tools in passing on the deposit of faith—the rich teachings and traditions of our Catholic Church.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a hands-on, prayerful approach to religious formation for children, rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church and the educational principles of Maria Montessori.
Nativity of Our Lord currently offers CGS to students from ages 3 to 9. Level 1 is for ages 3 to 6 (Kindergarten), and level 2 is for ages 6 to 9 (1st and 2nd grades).
Classes are held in the atrium (located in the atrium) which is a specially prepared room where children can come to know Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
