Growing and Learning with God

Nativity offers a 3 year old and 4 year old faith-based early childhood program. The students have the opportunity to meet new friends, familiarize themselves with the school environment, and develop an interest in learning. Our program focuses on the development of the whole child, physically, mentally and spiritually.

**All faiths are welcome**                 **Children must be a minimum of 3 years old by September 1 to enroll in the 3 year old program and 4 years old by September 1 to enroll in the 4 year old program**

Daily Activities

Circle Time - Children gather as a group for stories, songs, sharing and prayer.  Children are encouraged to develop their listening and speaking skills.  Calendar and weather discussions, puppets and fingerplays are part of our circle, as well.

Small Group Time - Children gather in small groups with the teacher for planned activities.  Activities vary daily, but offer science, math, art, cooking, language arts, religion, and manipulative experiences.

Outdoors or Physical Exercise - Children require fresh air and physical exercise for overall development.  Whenever possible, an outdoor recess or indoor gym time will be incorporated into the program.

Story Time - Children gather in one or two groups.  Skill development includes listening, speaking, pre-reading, and an appreciation for literature.

Learning Centers - Learning Centers are teacher-planned, free-choice activities.  Children are encouraged to play in all of the centers, but are allowed to choose their play.  The teacher will change centers and add materials to enhance learning and creativity.  Basic centers include: Math and Manipulatives, Building, Library and Language Arts, Creative Drama, Science and Discovery, Art/Writing

Music and Movement - Singing, chanting, rhythm, movement, and musical instruments are all a part of this activity time.
