Nativity Catholic Cluster: Nativity of our Lord and St. Johns Parishes

Safe Environment

 The Protection of God’s Children

FOR STUDENTS: Nativity of Our Lord Parish implements a safe environment program in accordance with Diocese of Superior policy and the Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, in order to: promote healing and reconciliation with victims/survivors of sexual abuse of minors; guarantee an effective response to allegations of sexual abuse of minors; ensure the accountability of our procedures; and protect the faithful.

Diocesan Safe Environment curriculum guidelines are used both in the Catholic School and the Religious Education Program. Appropriate grade-level materials are used annually to present sexual abuse awareness and prevention.

FOR ADULTS: The Diocese of Superior thanks you for your continued willingness to comply with the Bishops’ charter when working with children and youth.  Nativity of Our Lord, along with all other parishes in the diocese, requires all employees and volunteers to complete Safe Environment training and comply with a background check request every five years.
CMG Connect – an online process created by Catholic Mutual Insurance, which includes a combination of videos with questions and Diocesan documents/information is used for training.
