Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

A transformation of mind, spirit, everyday life!

The main purpose of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is to assist prospective Catholics in their journey to become active members of the church community. The other purpose is to revive the missionary spirit of all members of the faith community. The Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) created the RCIA to bring people into the church through the process of evangelization. The RCIA is for anyone seeking admittance into the church through baptism, first communion and confirmation.

Inquiry is always welcomed in our attempt to assist you in your spiritual quest that becomes a community and personal journey. Inquirers come from a variety of backgrounds and the process of full initiation is adapted to meet the needs of men and women who are; not baptized, baptized in the Roman Catholic Church but not completely initiated in the sacraments, baptized in another Christian church but in need of further instruction and initiation.

The RCIA has a year-round schedule of sessions designed to welcome you at any time of the year. The sessions are held on Sundays following the 9:00 am Mass at Nativity South. No registration is necessary to start your personal spiritual journey. There is no cost to the process as all we request from you is your time and an interest in developing a stronger relationship with your God through the Roman Catholic Faith. For further information, please contact John & Trish LeClair through the Parish Office.
